Many times you have probably heard the term SEO or Search Engine Optimization , but do you really know what it is?
It is common for many people to confuse SEO with SEM, and
then they believe that it is the same. And there are many others who assume
that they are not linked to each other.
It will be better to explain.
What Is SEO?
Search Engine Optimization, that is, the resources of your
website are optimized to have a better positioning in the search engines.
Ah ... the search engines are Google, Yahoo!, Bing (to
mention the most used).
And optimization is about making the source code of our
website, the content of the blog, the functions of your sales portal, your
interaction with social networks, etc., are in the best way working so that the
search engines give us "Points" and can move us up in the results
lists.
How Do We Optimize?
Metadata: It is
the description of your page, words that are hooks with which people can find
you, the title of your site.
CSS: It is the
style sheet in code with which a website is formatted and designed. If we want
to have a good SEO we haveto link all the pages of the site to the same style
sheet file.
Keywords Long Tail:
The keywords that enter the metadata. From a word to a complete sentence with
which they can find you.
Headings: With
them we give the reference to the engines of what the page is about or the
topic that is being talked about on that website.
Alt attributes:
Every time we place an image, we must insert this attribute in the image tag in
the code, so when a blind person visits the page, their browser can describe
the content of the image by converting the text into speech.
